Why do my ankles hurt when i run? after i start running the pain goes away though.

Deconditioning: Hi EHerring Most runners over 70 get used to 'start up' pains in knees and ankles...we assume it has to do with less synovial fluid and less elastin in our connective tissue as we age. You might try doing the letters of the alphabet with feet before running to get the fluid flowing. If continues, consult podiatrist or physiatrist.
