Pathology 40 years experience
CBC values: MPV=mean platelet value. Largely meaningless in most patients.
WBC=white blood cell count composed of several different cell types that respond differently, thus rising or falling variably according to the stimulus
RDW=red cell distribution width, a measure of how variable red cell sizes are, again not specific but sometimes useful if you are anemic.
Created for people with ongoing healthcare needs but benefits everyone.
