A member asked:

What does it mean if my mpv is always elevated and wbc are always low? rdw is occasionally elevated but not often.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

CBC values: MPV=mean platelet value. Largely meaningless in most patients. WBC=white blood cell count composed of several different cell types that respond differently, thus rising or falling variably according to the stimulus RDW=red cell distribution width, a measure of how variable red cell sizes are, again not specific but sometimes useful if you are anemic.
