Depends: on how deep the laceration and how soiled the potatoes. The tetanus bacteria are mainly found in soil feces and saliva and are more likely to cause infection in deep puncture wounds or wounds that have tissue damage such as burns and crush wounds. A booster tetanus shot is recommended with lacerations and puncture wounds if the last immunization was over 7 years.

Only if dirty: potatoes or the knife had been used outside and not cleaned before using. If all were clean and you washed the cut you are probably fine. But get a booster when you can for the next time you cut yourself.

Tetanus: Yes if your pocket knife was not clean. Perhaps you should go to the Emergency facility with your issue.

NotHigher Immunised?: You do not have a higher chance from a pocket knife while cutting potatoes. If you are up to date with your Tetanus shot. You may be at risk if it has been more than 10 years since you had a tetanus booster. The chances of Tetanus from a clean wound like your are much less. But check with your Doctor if you need a booster shot.Clean the wound with water and dress with Band Aid
