Ophthalmic migraine: Ophthalmic migraine is a condition where lights or irregular shapes occur lasting from 10 minutes to several hours. The vision may be obscured during this period. These episodes are self limited and go away without treatment. There is no headache or nausea.

Migraine: This is likely a variant of migraine, even if you did not have a headache. Hormonal changes can bring these episodes on. If you are on oral contraceptives, i would suggest you talk to your physician about changing this.
