A member asked:

Is knee pain a symptom of recovery from a trimulleolar fracture common or is it associated with swollen nerves from too much pressure on ankle?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ankle fractures: Trimalleolar ankle fractures are significant injuries to the lower extremity. Assuming you had surgical treatment, remaining non-weight bearing on the operative extremity for 6-8 weeks can result in pain in other joints of the extremity, especially when you start weight bearing again. Also, swelling in the extremity can result in hypersensitivity and pain in the initial recovery phase
