Diagnosed with non-specific proctitis. if it is acute, would it last for several months? colonoscopy negative for ibd. is retest needed?

Follow up: It is possible to develop chronic proctitis, or you might have a different condition called proctalgia fugax, quite common. Follow up with your provider to determine the proper diagnosis and management. Unfortunately there is not much that can be done about proctalgia fugax.
