How can i tell if a very painful, quarter sized ( was pea) lump is a lymp node or a cyst. have apt soon but what tests can prove one or the other?

Lymph node vs. cyst: Well, there is really no blood test or X-ray study that will do this for you. The only real way to know is by removing the lesion. However, there are some clinical signs that your doctor will use, that may help to make the most likely diagnosis even prior to the removal (if necessary).
