A member asked:

Is it possible for gallbladder removal to result in, or contribute to, temporary irritable bowel? can irritable bowel even be temporary?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

GB -> IBS?: When the gallbladder is removed, we become intolerant of fats in the diet (long story), so after more fatty meals we can feel bloated and cramps and get diarrhea, symptoms similar to those of IBS.
