A member asked:

How to ensure a healthy breakfast? are there any commonly carried out breakfast practices that are actually unhealthy but thought to be otherwise?

Protein not carbs: The typical American breakfast relies too much on carbs/starches like cereal, toast and pancakes. Avoid those and emphasize whole foods, esp. those high in protein like eggs, nuts and unsweetened organic yogurt. Less sweet fruit like berries also a good choice. Non-traditional choices like vegetables and beans are also fine. But minimize the all-too-common starchy breakfast foods that many choose.
