A member asked:

Can an ultra sound or a cat scan detect colon cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Other good tests: Early colon cancer is not easily visible on Ultrasound. CT scan is under trials to find out its utility. Right now the best test is Colonoscopy where it is easy to visuallise early colon cancer and precursor lesions. Ask your doctor in case you may need one done. it is recommended for all adults aged 50 years or earlier if there is a family history of colon cancer. Ask your doctor's advice.
