NightOwl v EarlyBird: As long as you get enough quality sleep (not just quantity), you should be fine, regardless of whether you're an early bird or night owl. Bigger issue is fitting into society's expected norms or if you work off hours that affect sleep eg shift work sleep disorder. While we use 7-8hrs/nite as barometer, untreated sleep apnea is at least as dangerous to health as sleeping less hours.
