Relax: Epiglottitis is due to infection from nontypable H Flu (germ). The biggest risk with swallowing a chicken bone is it catching up in your throat and triggering a chocking episode. Gargle with some warm salt water to soothe the irritation. Always eat food that may contain bones slowly.

Unlikely to develop: The human system is well designed to deal with scratchy things that invade your swallowing process. The saliva you swallow has many antibacterial qualities that promote healing. Your biggest risk from the chicken bone was if it created a blockage in your airway at the time (uncle died that way).If you are obsessing over this I suppose you are just experiencing part of the learning process.
