Highly unlikely.: There were no cases of Hanta virus in New Jersey in 2014. See http://www.cdc.gov/hantavirus/surveillance/state-of-exposure.html It is spread in the United States by the deer mouse. If there was no evidence of any rodents, like droppings ,in the house, then an infestation of any rodent is unlikely to have occurred. No rodents, means no hanta virus. No risk in N.J.: In the past 23 years there have been about 620 cases of Hanta Virus infection in the U.S.(average of 30 cases/year)There have been NO cases of Hanta Virus reported in N.J In addition, a new house would be unlikely to serve as a nesting place for rodents and would be an unlikely place to find collections of mouse excreta that is infectious.See CDC site and click on the maps>http://1.usa.gov/1IOlQsY
