Treatment: Rest, physical therapy and NSAID medication may help. If you really have arthritis in the facet joints of the spine, injections of steroid and local anesthetic (facet blockss) may help. These can be followed up with a longer lasting desentization of the facet nerves (rf ablation).

Pain treatment.: Unfortunately, although this is a simple question the answer is not. The key to treatment is an appropriate evaluation, the making of a diagnosis, and the development of a treatment plan for that diagnosis. Most pain is self limiting and resolves shortly. Persistent pain requires an evaluation by an appropriately trained provider.
