Depends: Usually the skin of a piercing has healed along the tract by now. Some people are sensitive to nickel - a cheaper metal used in costume jewelry - which may be causing some sensitivity at the skin. I would recommend wearing only hypoallergenic earrings and avoid sleeping with them if possible. Have your MD look at the area to give you a better idea what is going on.
