Piercings: This is a great question due to the popularity of body piercings. Likely the piercing is like any other wound to the body and will heal with time and care. If the area is red, warm, has a discharge or "purulent material" these can be signs of infection. If possible you may want to discuss this with the one's who performed the piercing.
