A member asked:

What are symptoms of a retroflexed odotnoid?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Retroflexed Odontoid: Symptoms are many: Chronic Headaches, neck and facial pain. Since the odontoid points toward the spine instead of straight up, it can lead to brain-stem compression. The brain-stem controls the heart rate - so if you have rapid heart rate, or fainting episodes on standing (orthostatic hypotension), must be evaluated. Brain-stem also controls balance - dizziness, impaired coordination can occur!
