No: It is not osteomalacia but I also doubt it is due to vitamin D deficiency.

Be patient: Rheumatologist are very knowledgeable, and evaluate this kind of condition several times daily. If your Vit D has been low for several months or years, then thinning of the bones is likely to have taken place. Normalizing the deficient level will not immediately bring about bone density improvement - it will take 1 to 2 years. Hopefully, your symptoms will start to improve within 6 months.
