Anal bleeding...: ...most commonly results from hemorrhoids. Anal fissure also is a common cause, but usually quite painful. Maybe minor trauma if you've had anal sex. If bleeding is heavy or if it lasts more than a week or so, see a doctor to be safe. Also get care if sexually active and at risk for STDs (new or non-mongamous partner, etc). STDs aren't a common cause of such bleeding, but a possibility.
