Likely unrelated: I would still get checked and have your "heartburn" evaluated to differentiate between acid reflux and cardiac pain. The bright red blood is from areas close to the rectum, normally stomach , duodenum blood becomes black and gives tar stools. The bright red means its lower down like in the rectal area
