Is it okay to drink alcohol with naproxen?

Dr. Aj Rastogi

In Moderate Amounts: Social drinking with Naproxen is typically fine. Things to be concerned about include GI upset with some drinks in conjunction with Naproxen especially if you are vomiting after heavy drinking further damaging the esophagus or GI system with acidic vomited contents. Naproxen in high doses can also erode the lining of the upper GI system.
A 46-year-old member asked:

Is it okay to take aleve, excedrin, sudafed, and Zantac (ranitidine) at the same time?

Dr. Sunil Ummat

Not really: I would not take Excedrin and Aleve (naproxen) at the same time. I would take these two neds a few hours apart. The rest are ok to take together unless you have an allergy to these meds or some other medical condition such as diabetes or hypertension that could be affected by these drugs. Always be careful with taking too many meds.
