Prolotherapy: There is a 5-7 year process for these types of problems to heal. If this isn't surgical, consider prolotherapy injections, that will strengthen supporting structures, so that pressure is taken off of the nerve. Also, gentle osteopathic or chiropractic manipulation may help. Also, lumbar traction is sometimes useful.

Depends: Sometimes, epidurals are repeated if the first one provided good relief. If your symptoms are attributable to a disc bulge, surgical or percutaneous discectomy may be recommended.
