Strain: Muscle or ligament strain or overuse is likely. Knee tendonitis is another possibility. Perhaps inappropriate footwear or poor walking technique were causes. Resting, alternating cold and warm applications and taking anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen or naproxen for several days should help. If symptoms persist or worsen see your physician or an orthopedic specialist for evaluation.
