My son is 9 months old and has a cough, i want to go get the vicks humidifier. is that okay to use?

Yes but: Any humidifier may help if your area has low humidity but seldom does much. I never recommend any Vicks or similar fragrance products in infancy because they are air pollution and often cause airway irritation.You might find it soothing, but you don't have a baby nose/airway.
