Vaginal washes: Vaginal washing, also called douching, is not needed for personal hygiene and can cause problems like introducing bacteria and increasing the risk of bacterial vaginosis. It cannot prevent pregnancy or treat a sexually transmitted disease. Normal vaginal secretions are white or pale yellow. Everyday bathing or showering with soap and water should be adequate to keep these odor free.
