A member asked:

Blood glucose level reaches 200 three hours after eating dinner. then insulin. how long should i wait to see the lowest possible near normal score?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Blood sugar: Rapid acting insulin lasts from 4-6 hours and reaches peak effect in 2-3 hours at which time your blood sugar would be at its lowest as a general rule. However if you had taken a long-lasting insulin earlier in the day, it would also be exerting an effect hours later. Your physician who knows your case best is also best qualified to answer your question.
