Blood sugar: Rapid acting insulin lasts from 4-6 hours and reaches peak effect in 2-3 hours at which time your blood sugar would be at its lowest as a general rule. However if you had taken a long-lasting insulin earlier in the day, it would also be exerting an effect hours later.
