TMJ.: First, TMJ is not life threatening. Treatments are usually rehabilitative. There are arthroscopic options, but start with physical therapy type treatments first. Otherwise, analgesics help with the pain.

Confirmed diagnosis: Get a true diagnosis. There are many modalities of treatment. Make sure an accident,car bicycle or trauma of any sort did not cause or exacerbate the problem..Once the diagnosis is confirmed, discuss with the dentist or oral surgeon the most conservative treatment for you. Botox is now being used for TMJ
