Nerve compression: This might be due to compression of one of the superficial cutaneous nerves of the thigh (the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve)-- a condition called meralgia paresthetica. Is the pictured area affected? This is a common condition in overweight individuals or individuals who tend to wear tight fitting pants as this nerve runs right under the belt line.
