Hip?: Where exactly do you mean? The 'hip joint' is pretty close to the groin. The side of your upper leg has a boney prominence called the greater trochanter, which can be a focal point of pain. the pelvis has a big bone called the iliac crest that can get bumped and bruised. Need to be more specific about where the sensations are happening.
