Any time someone...: ...says a symptom of any kind is severe, it's time to see a doctor. I don't know what heart problems you have, but angina (heart pain from a blocked artery in the heart) can be felt in the neck, shoulder, arm or hand. Putting "severe" and "heart problems" together tells meet you need to see your doctor about this. NOW! Best wishes. Dr. Anne
