Post op care: If your stitches have been removed and there is no sign of infection, nor is the wound area slightly open, you can take a shower. However, ask your surgeon first. Also buy a shower cover to protect the area.

Stay Dry, Stay Safe: Until your surgeon tells you that it time to allow the soaking and showering, do not do it. After three weeks of post op care, why blow it know? Some wound just aren't healed enough in three weeks to allow soaking. Cover it with a towel and wrap it in a plastic bag until you get the go ahead from your surgeon.
