Depends: "abnormal pap" really doesn't tell me anything. There are dozens of ways a pap could be abnormal. What needs to be done ranges form nothing to taking biopsies. Minor abnormalities like ascus or mild dysplasia usually go away spontaneously (without subsequent treatment), but you may need further testing (eg, colposcopy) to make sure no abnormalities were missed with the pap.
