Stop brushing hard: If your dentist has examined you and has given you a clean bill of health (meaning your teeth are clean and there is no calculus present), then the bleeding is most likely from traumatic brushing. Brushing gently and flossing will keep them clean and healthy without irritating them.

Stop & Go: STOP brushing so hard, switch to a soft toothbrush, be gentle. GO to a gum specialist, a Periodontist. There are many other reasons for bleeding gums.

Electric Toothbrush: Bleeding gums can be a sign that you have or are at risk for gum disease. Brushing too hard can damage tooth enamel and irritate tissue, causing redness, swelling and gum bleeding. Electric toothbrushes can make it easier to do a better job, gentle brushing and healthy gums.
