Nighttime cough: Coughing at night can occur in a number of ailments, most commonly GERD (gastroesophgeal reflux disease), asthma, post-nasal drip/allergies, and fluid in the lungs for example from congestive heart failure. An allergy to dust mites in the pillow could potentially cause coughing at night. If persistent, it is worthwhile getting evaluated in clinic. A proper history/physical should get the answer.
