Depending on details 2 conditions are typically seen more often than others: postnasal drip or sinus related and acid reflux somewhat typically involved in chronic cough symptoms. Seeing your doc for a consult and a treatment trial would be best.

Dr. P' s advice is exce!lent but instead I advise consulting a pulmonologist for evaluation and in this manner appropriate testing will be done straightaway. You could be experiencing an asthma equivalent cough ( without wheezing).
