Lipomas: Lipomas are non-cancerous growth of fat cells within a fibrous capsule, sometimes hereditary, often in multiple locations, unrelated to cholesterol or weight. They feel like small soft, somewhat mobile, lumps under the skin. The lumps are begnin but may become sore if traumatized or in an awkward spot where they are subject to constant irritation. Lipomas are removed surgically if bothersome.
