It depends: New research is less concerned about the cholesterol in natural foods vis a vis cardiovascular risk. Turkey has generally less fat and less calories per serving than red meat so likely safer.

Poultry is better: Avoid prepackaged foods. In general, stick with poultry and fish over red meats, which should be eaten in limited quantities.
