A member asked:

Is it safe to take zaroxyln during preganancy? i have had water retention for 4 years and just found out i am pregnant

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Zaroxylyn: Per fda Metolazone is a pregnancy category b drug. Animal studies have failed to reveal evidence of fetal toxicity, however there are no controlled studies in human pregnancy. It is known to cross the placental barrier and appears in cord blood. Diuretics usually causes placental hypoperfusion (poor blood supply). I advise you not to take it until you discuss with your obgyn.
