Is it safe to take prevacid (lansoprazole) in early pregnancy? just over 4 weeks pregnant, have been on prescription prevacid (lansoprazole) for years for extreme reflux.

PPIs: You are on a ppi (proton pump inhibitor). What i usually do in my patients in the first trimester is try them on either Pepcid or zantac (ranitidine) (generic versions usually) and if not sufficient, i eventually add back either their Prevacid or Omeprazole (prilosec), but i prefer to add it back around 14 weeks.
