A member asked:

Could i have vocal cord dysfunction even if it's my chest not throat that tightens? sob is not relieved by albuterol. i feel like i wheeze on inhale

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Diagnosis of...: ...conditions like this requires a doctor who's experienced in evaluating the significance of abnormal sounds in the voice, throat & respiratory tract. "Wheezing on inhalation" is technically not wheezing. It may be "stridor", a sound that occurs when the vocal cords are inflamed or swollen. Your doctor may want you to see a speech pathologist or pulmonologist. Best wishes.
