Should be OK,even...: According to the official recommendations, children 5 years and older can have 2 puffs of an Albuterol Inhaler every 4-6 hours as needed. I like your idea of one puff, but if he does not respond well to one puff you can give him a second puff. See http://www.drugs.com/dosage/albuterol.html#Usual_Pediatric_Dose_for_Asthma___Acute
