Painful: Your muscles "spasm" when either the signal to them is interrupted; they are asked to do something they do not want to do, or they are overworked. It is their way of telling you that they need to rest; and they need attention.

Muscle spasm. : Muscles spasms are often associated with electrolyte problems. Calcium, Magnesium and Potassium are often the culprits. Commonly people are low in Magnesium and often this is low in the diet. Often taking in a higher amount of Magnesium will help the problem. Also, make sure you drink plenty of water.
