If i take ambien (zolpidem) & wake up really early (6), is it a sign to get up or drug wearing off? usually groggy & not ready to get up but hard to fall back.

Could be either : Actually, it could be either of the reasons you listed. First, Ambien (zolpidem) should work for ~6-7 hours. That said, If you've been taking Ambien (zolpidem) for awhile, talk to your doctor about the possibility of rotating medications. This usually helps to reduce tolerance. Also, remember to take Ambien (zolpidem) on an empty stomach - as food decreases absorption of the drug. Hope that helps!
