In special cases: After consultation with your physician, this might be appropriate in selected cases and on a short-term basis. The bigger question is why the patient wakes up secondary to pain. A better treatment is to optimize the pain medication regimen so the pain does not interfere with sleep.

Yes...but: There should be no problem doing so but i would discuss it with my doctor first.
