A member asked:

How much water can an 11 month old (he will be 1 on aug. 24th) 20 lbs. child have a day?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Urine production: If only taking water, a 20 pound baby would need a total fluid intake of almost 1 liter/dar, however, everything we eat also transforms into energy, water and CO2. So how much water to give him depends on many factors, including the weather and level of activity. Offer him water through the day, he'll take what he needs. Watch for good urine production, mucosal moisture and tears.
