Extremely rare: Fortunately this is extremely rare. But we sometimes see this with trauma patients, (gunshots) who present in critical condition. We do exactly what we would do for non-surgical patients.-- we start cpr, and the anesthesiologist gives emergency drugs , blood or fluids needed. We close the patient as soon as safe to do so with the intention of bringing back to or once stable (24 hours?).

FEAR!!!: Immediately followed by life saving measures. If the surgery is being performed in a surgery center or hospital, there will be all the equipment and medications necessary to try and save the patient's life. If it is being done in a doctor's office, first aid will be given and the ems protocol activated (ie call 911).
