Problem: You should not be drinking alcohol, now. Interaction with Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) is only one issue, not based on when you take it, and not the pre-eminent issue. Alcohol suppresses your immune system, and therefore your recovery from an infection. Question: did your use of alcohol contribute to your getting the abscess? (You wouldn't be expected to know, but it may be worth thinking about.)
