Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) DS is a reasonable choice for antibiotic, to cover for CA-MRSA Occasionally a small abscess on the face can be drained with a needle to avoid a scar, with the patient being placed on an antibiotic. In this case, if not improving, an incision needs to be done.
