Cause?: You should figure out what the cause of the fever is. If you have underlying medical conditions like any organ disease, cancer, chemotherapy or organ transplant, or are on steroids or have HIV, then a fever can be serious but if you are relatively healthy and have a flu like illness, but otherwise feel well, you may want to take a dose of naproxen or ibuprofen. You Could Try Motrin: What dose? 325 mg? 500 mg? How many pills? One? Two? Ten? (I hope not!!) Plus, how bad do you feel? 100.7 is just .3 above what's considered, generally, as a "fever." For one or two doses you could try to take it more frequently (but no more) as long as you are otherwise healthy. But in general, if you feel OK then don't get impulsive about your fever unless it's pushing past, say, 102.5 or so.

Take a NSAID: ...such as Ibuprofen or Naproxen with food. You can alternate these every 4-6 hours or so. If you have other signs of infection (except for flu) or can't get the fever under control, it might be time to see a clinic.
