A member asked:

I was just told i have a 7.5cm physiological ovarian cyst on my left ovary. i've been uncomfortable and in pain and have been taking motrin. the obgyn told me that if it feels worse, to call him. am i ok? is this something i should be scared over?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Large but : A 7.5 cm ovarian cyst is large but if your doctor is certain that it is physiological it's relatively low risk and you have a conservative doctor. There may be some pain if it ruptures and some bleeding is possible but the biggest and less likely complication would be ovarian torsion ( ovary twists and blood flow is cut off). These would cause an increase in pain and are the reason to call.
